Thai New Year
Thai New Year, also known as Songkran Festival, is celebrated in Thailand from April 13-15. Families and friends get together to cook and eat delicious meals that are associated with the Thai New Year. In the streets, many people wet each other with water as this cleanses the body of any bad luck. This creates a whole new beginning for the new year. In Thailand, April is the hottest month, so getting wet with water helps to cool down the body from the heat.

The Cambodian and Lao New Year is also celebrated during this time.
